Club Captain News
Bayview Challenge – 18th September
For the first time since we have held this competition Bayview managed to lift the interclub trophy. Held at CBTC on a challenging wet day which limited us to just half the planned matches, the highlight of the day for us was the post match BBQ and desserts, the latter provided by Bayview members. Many thanks to our Social Committee for another sterling job.
Terry Hills Challenge – 13th November
The trend continued with another defeat for CBTC, this time by a massive margin of 23 sets to 7. Our ladies held their own, but Terry Hills came with a surprisingly strong representation of men that accounted for the difference. This was their first victory in many years and had brought some healthy competition back into the day. Nonetheless, the day was a great social success and I’m sure was enjoyed by all. Our objective for 2017 is to win back the trophy – Our clubroom is currently looking rather bare.
These were completed in November. We even had enough keen players to enable both Ladies and Mens Singles tournaments to be run, perhaps for the first time. Is this testament to the quality of life we can enjoy living on the northern beaches?
Ladies Singles Alison Stewart
Mens Singles Paul Harrison
Ladies Doubles Alison Stewart & Jan Milton
Mens Doubles Lloyd Stewart & Brett Nicholson
Mixed Doubles Chrissie Camp & Graeme Saunders
Tennis Northern Beaches (TNB)
We fielded 2 Ladies teams (Monday evenings), 6 Mens teams (Wednesday evenings) and 2 Mixed teams (Thursday evenings) in the Spring competition.
In the shorter Spring competition we fielded a Mens Badge team.
