Careel Bay Tennis Club
Information for Prospective Members
Careel Bay Tennis Club (CBTC) established in 1977, is located at Hitchcock Park, Barrenjoey Road, North Avalon. There are 5 championship sized, floodlit, synthetic grass courts, a large clubhouse with change rooms and showers, a well stocked Pro-shop, BBQ facilities and an enclosed children’s playground. There is plenty of on-site parking and is easily accessible by public transport. Club members are able to participate in the social tennis, Club Championship events (Junior, Open, Veteran and Vintage) and enter teams in Tennis Northern Beaches weekend and mid-week evening competitions. In addition, the Club has allocated playing times during the week for members. At the other times, members and the public can hire courts subject to availability. Members are also welcome to attend social functions held throughout the year.
The benefits of membership include Social Tennis (no court hire charge) and this takes two forms.
Controlled play at weekends (where there is a Captain of the Day rostering people onto courts for doubles play only). This is every weekend and public holidays between the hours of 2pm and 6pm during daylight saving and 1pm to 6pm during the winter months.

Non controlled play where courts are allocated for “Club Time”. These change from time to time depending on demand/usage. Members can access the booking form in the Members Only section and need to book ahead.

Membership fees are:
Adults $100 joining fee plus $230.00 per annum (pro-rata’d )
Juniors (Under 18 years) $115.00 per annum (pro-rata’d )

Membership is subject to applicants being capable of demonstrating a reasonable standard of play and acceptance by the Management Committee
