2025 junior inter-club challenge

Sunday 21st of September saw the third installment of the Junior Inter-Club Challenge versus Collaroy Tennis Club being hosted at Careel Bay. Both Clubs assembled teams made up of 12 players into 6 pairings. Two playing divisions were created in an attempt to foster an even playing field. Each pairing played three full standard point deuce sets across a brilliant Spring afternoon, where every game won attributed to each teams score.

Collaroy have again proved to be the stronger team winning their third title with a very convincing scoreline of 104-41. The Collaroy players selected Max Cannon as the Best +Fairest player from Careel Bay whilst the Careel Bay players selected Joshua Tchou as their choice for Best + Fairest from Collaroy. A few other notable mentions include James Berling, Jai Mortimer, Finn Hellmirch + Ethan Hallet playing an epic 7-5 set won by Collaroy, in what took just under an hour and 10 minutes.

The standard of tennis was very high and was only bettered by the impeccable sportsmanship on display by all 24 junior players. Both Clubs can hold their heads high and be proud of both the promotion and the development of junior tennis at each Club, in conjunction with our shared Coaching Partners Evolve whose support for the event was genuinely appreciated.

The Careel Bay Social Committee put on an amazing BBQ to wrap the event up in style. As they say…… until next year.
